Every university campus has certain landmarks you can use to orient yourself, and on a campus the size of ANU this is an imperative step to learning the layout. You’ll gradually learn landmarks during your first months on campus, but here’s a few to get you started:
The roads within ANU are a bit of a maze in and of themselves, but they’re easy to memorize and cover most of the university. If you can figure out where you class is in relation to a road, finding your class is simply a case of following it.
Chances are that, at least for your first year, many of the students in your first classes will have extremely similar timetables to you. Stick with them and try and collaboratively figure out where your class is. Remember, they can’t arrest you all!
Most people on campus are friendly, and are more than familiar with being lost as a new student. If you’re truly out of options, ask someone who looks friendly. You might even make a friend!
